Must-Visit Halloween Attractions & Events Near Toronto

In case you needed more reasons to fall in love with spooky season, we’ve put together this list of haunted forests, ghost tours, spooky street festivals and horror-themed vendor markets within an hours drive of Toronto. As the leaves change colours and temperatures begin to drop, the fall season brings comfort with warm drinks and cozy sweaters, and that eerie Halloween feeling. To help you make the most of spooky season, check out these must-visit haunted horrors and family-friendly events in Durham Region. The month of October has plenty of frightful fun for all ages!


Brawley Woods

October 9 to November 1 | 1320 Brawley Road West, Whitby

Dubbed “the most intense Halloween walk in Ontario”, Brawley Woods is a premier Haunted Halloween Walk with movie production props, some of the biggest animatronics in North America, and the most animatronics in one single haunt. Explore the spooky walk inside a real forest with two opportunities to face your fears—the Night Time Haunted Walk and 24 ultimate scene rooms. The event runs on weekends only, from Friday to Sunday, until November 1 and is not recommended for young children. Tickets are available online and the event is cash only on-site.

Cannington Haunted Attraction

October 16 to 24 | 91 Elliot Street, Cannington

Here for two weekends only! Don’t miss one of the spookiest, scariest events in Durham Region at the Cannington Haunted Attraction! The immersive horror-themed attraction includes two outdoor wooded trails and an indoor barn maze with live scare actors and shocking surprises. Tickets are available online only. Additional attractions are cash only, including a mini-escape room, food and craft vendors, and a decorated museum. The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and is not recommended for children under eight.

Cooper’s Friday Night Corn Maze

October 2 to 30 | 266 Ashworth Road, Uxbridge

There's nothing like wandering through a corn maze on a crisp fall day, but have you ever experienced it at night? While this is not a scare maze, it can be a little spooky! Think you can master the 10-acre corn maze at Cooper’s CSA Farm in the dark? You may want to bring a flashlight just in case! Guests can enjoy Night Maze Walks on Fridays throughout October from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets include one pumpkin from the patch. Children three and under are free.

Crocs After Dark

October 23 and 24 | 1400 Victoria Street East, Whitby

For two nights on! Discover the nocturnal side of Reptilia Whitby as their crocodilians comes to life under the moonlight at Crocs After Dark. Guided by expert zookeepers, witness thrilling feedings, special nocturnal shows, and get face-to-face with some of nature’s most elusive predators! As night falls, Reptilia’s crocodiles prowl, swim and stalk beneath the moonlight. And they’re not alone—snakes slither, lizards emerge, and the entire reptile kingdom stirs in this exclusive after-hours experience. Recommended for kids. 

Dine With The Dead

October 16 and 23 | 2383 Regional Highway 2, Bowmanville

Join Volt Raceway for a buffet dinner and an unforgettable evening with Psychic Medium Cathy Chafe. Throughout the evening, Cathy will visit tables and share messages, insights, and connections while guests dine. Whether you’re a believer, a skeptic, or simply curious about the spirit world, Dine with the Dead offers an intimate and intriguing experience unlike your typical night out. While you’re there, explore the endless fun that Volt Raceway has to offer with go-karting, bowling, arcade games and more. Recommended for guests 18+.

Fear Forest

October 3 to 30 | 60 Celina Street, Oshawa

Celebrating its fifth season, Fear Forest has become a premium indoor haunted attraction in Oshawa. “Welcome to Dead Falls”—the 2026 scare experience follows a haunted old road that locals say you should never visit after dark. Prepare for frightening scenes with live actors, animatronics and effects, an escape challenge and a spooky crawl tunnel. Don’t mis your chance to attend this frightful event! Open most Wednesdays to Sundays on select days only, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are available to purchase online or walk-in. Recommended for guests 10 years of age and older.

Firehouse Fright Night

October 14 to 17 | 2287 Highway 2, Bowmanville

Firehouse Fright Night returns to Watson Farms with a spooky, interactive, story-driven trail! For four nights only, navigate through the three-acre corn maze and see if you can survive their series of scares! The self-guided trail has many twists, turns and dead ends to trap you. Get ready to put on a brave face as you wander through sudden scares and interactive story scenes, more than 80 live and interactive creatures, and amazing special effects. Be sure to watch over your shoulder, you could have a monster sneak up on you at any moment! The event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. and is a great event for all ages.

Halloween At Coffin Creek Coffee

Various dates in October | 1413 King Street East, Courtice

Get ready for a full fall lineup of events at Coffin Creek Coffee! This horror-themed café specializes in spooky all-year round, but for the month of October they’re hosting some extra spooktacular events. Visit on October 9 for horror trivia night; an Obscura book launch party on October 15; Batzy’s drag trivia on October 23; a witches meet up on October 25; and special guest Michael Myers will be keeping things spooky on October 31. Plus, every Friday is Fortune Teller Friday—stop by for a psychic reading and sip on freshly brewed coffee while you shop local artisan vendors.

Nightmare On BOND|ST

October 31 | 44 Bond Street East, Oshawa

Back for its second year, We Are Your Friends is hosting an epic Halloween party—Nightmare on BOND|ST. Located at TWOTWOTWO, the basement of BOND|ST Event Centre and once home to The Dungeon, has been transformed into a modern entertainment space with a nod to its historic roots. Guests can dance the night away with live DJs spinning hip-hip, throwbacks, pop hits, and spooky stuff. The event is 19+ and starts at 10:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged.

Oshawa Halloween Boo Bash

October 17 | Downtown Oshawa

The Oshawa Halloween Boo Bash is set to take over downtown Oshawa for one night only! Experience the frightfully fun first-ever Halloween bash packed with pumpkins, costumes, contests, live music, trick-or-treating at local businesses, and scare zones with eerie surprises around every corner. Enjoy activities for all ages, like downtown trick-or-treating and pumpkin decorating, plus more frightful activations like Scare Crow Lane, Vital Circus, Krampus Street Party, and more. Enjoy a spooky night out with friends or bring the whole family for an evening of ghostly good times! This full day event takes place from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is free to attend.

Paranormal Night At Oshawa Museum

October 17 | 1450 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa

Join the Paranormal Seekers for a night of frights at the Oshawa Museum!  Step into the shadows of Oshawa's most historic homes for an unforgettable night of mystery, history, and paranormal intrigue. Beginning at the eerie and elegant Guy House, your journey will take you through three legendary museum buildings—each with their own story to tell. Tours begin from 7 to 9 p.m., to offer thrilling encounters, fascinating stories, and a deeper look into the spirit world.

Pickering Ghost Walks & Halloween Fest

October 1 to 31 | 3550 Greenwood Road, Pickering

Pickering Museum Village kicks off the Halloween season with Ghost Walks at the museum and Paranormal Tours at the Pickering waterfront. Learn about the paranormal investigations that have taken place on site, hear the museum’s most infamous staff stories, and uncover the tragedies that have occurred in Pickering’ past. Plus, don’t miss Myth & Moonlight: An After Dark Experience on October 2 and 3, or the family-friendly Halloween Fest on October 24 and 25 for Halloween-themed games, activities, crafts, and treats. Costumes are encouraged.

Prowl At The Park

October 24 | 3667 Concession Road 6, Orono

Join Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park for Prowl At The Park on October 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. This family-friendly Halloween celebration will feature trick-or-treating throughout the park; shopping from unique local vendors; a free bonfire with marshmallows and hot drinks; free face painting; live musical performances; special enrichment activities for the animals; spooky décor and photo-ops; delicious food and drinks at the Safari Café and Jaguar Den; and, fun Halloween themed arts and crafts. Tickets are available online. Recommended for kids.

Scugog Shores Boo-seum

Join the Scugog Shores Museum Village for a day of family fun at Adventures at the Boo-seum on October 24! The eighth annual event explores the traditions of the Halloween season. Explore the museum grounds, carve a pumpkin and trick-or-treat around the village from 1 to 4 p.m. Recommended for kids. Costumes are encouraged!

Soper Creek Wildlife Halloween Party

October 24 | 6706 Gibbs Road, Bowmanville

Celebrate the spirit of Halloween at the Soper Creek Wildlife Halloween Party! This exciting family-friendly event features Halloween-themed games, crafts, trick-or-treating through the enchanted forest, a spooky treasure hunt, and up-close encounters with their incredible animal ambassadors. Tickets are available online and guests can enjoy up to two hours exploring various stations around the property. Recommended for kids. Costumes are encouraged.

Spooktacular Light Show

October 3 to 31 | 462 Kingston Road East, Ajax

Back for its fourth year, the Spooktacular Light Show is a dazzling 2D and 3D light display at the Ajax Casino. Drive-thru and sync music straight from the comfort of your car, or walk-thru the lights to experience the display of lights by foot! This immersive experience includes a two kilometre trail decorated in more than two million lights of ghosts, ghouls and glowing pumpkins. Tickets to this family-friendly event can be purchased online per car or per person. The event runs weekends from Friday to Sunday, and select weekdays, leading up to Halloween.

The Gathering: Through The Cellar Door

October 24 | 62 King Street, Bowmanville

Just in time for Halloween, The Gathering is hosting their annual Through The Cellar Door—a spooky gathering and vendor market at Markets Ontario. Ghosts and ghouls are invited to come dressed to impress to celebrate spooky season and local alternative artists right in the heart of downtown Bowmanville. Enjoy music from a live DJ, shop local from alternative artisan vendors, and more at this free event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WindReach Farm’s Halloween Spooktacular

October 24 | 312 Townline Road, Scugog

Enjoy a fun-filled evening at WindReach Farm’s Halloween Spooktacular! From 5 to 9 p.m., explore the spooky haunted house, trick-or-treat trail, a Halloween dance in the barn, and more! Kids can enjoy a haunted house, trick-or-treating, farm animals, and a spooky Halloween wagon ride. Recommended for kids. Tickets for this event are per vehicle and can be purchased upon arrival.
